During my recent stay at Tekao Lodge, I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing location and the warm hospitality of Irene, the owner. She provided valuable advice on exploring Cape Reinga and other attractions in the area. The lodge itself was well-presented and clean, offering comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Although the communal lounge could use a bit of attention, it wasn't a major issue as we didn't spend much time there. Having access to a fully equipped kitchen was a bonus, especially since there were no meals provided nearby. I also appreciated the peacefulness and quietness for a good night's sleep. I had a memorable experience and would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends heading that way.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived and had a memorable holiday thanks to Irene's genuine hospitality. Cons: Nothing not to like! 😊.

Stayed at a place with shared lounge, felt like a queen with free wifi. The natural beauty around made me feel so alive, and I even had time to relax in the shared lounge area. So posh!

Great spot. We were the only guests apart from the friendly owner, so we got to choose our own room. Comfy beds, clean rooms/house, and a good shower flow. The communal spaces were welcoming and homely, with a well-equipped kitchen. Irene, the host, was warm and informative. Perfect location for exploring Cape Reinga, sand dune bodyboarding, and Pokenui whalers Road. Lush green scenery in early winter. A cozy retreat for us Southerners. Outstanding customer service, felt welcomed and at home.
